Meet Mari Megias, a recreational hiker, snowshoer, kayaker, and occasional skier from Massachusetts who joined the club in the late 2000s.
How did you find out about the Wedeln Ski Club?
A friend of a friend of a friend brought me up as a guest in the late 2000s. It was so fun! I wondered where this club had been my whole life and was amazed that I’d never heard about the ski club scene in the Valley.
Why did you decide to join the Wedeln Ski Club?
The people, hands down. I can hike, snowshoe, and ski anywhere, but the members have become my family and I love nothing more than seeing everyone on a Friday night after a long week at work.
What outdoor activities do you participate in?
Hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, kayaking, canoeing, bonfiring, porching.
What are your other hobbies and daily activities?
Crafting, sketching, being a news junkie, and playing backgammon with my boyfriend and his son — all activities that I can enjoy on our front porch!
In your own words, how would you describe the Wedeln Ski Club?
What is your favorite thing about being a Wedeln?
My friends, the amazing history of the club, a terrific house, and the wonderful community where I can just be myself.
